On Aug. 17, the Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys (BENV), joined forces with members across the globe in an effort to "Eliminate" maternal and neonatal tetanus, a painful disease that kills one baby every nine minutes and a significant number of mothers.
Because donations are still coming in to Sandy-relief organizations large and small, that money is being forwarded to families still in need. Back-to-school time is a drain on any family’s budget, but a surprise donation of backpacks came to 103 children on Long Beach Island through the Kiwanis Club of LBI.

May 20, 2013. A huge EF5 tornado devastates the community of Moore, OK., leaving hundreds of people homeless. Kiwanis is there to help immediately.
This is an update received today from Past Governor Mary Edwards. She and her family were narrowly missed by the tornado, but all are fine.
